Equipment installed
During my most recent visit to Nicaragua, my wife Beti and I were able to visit the Nicaragua Coffee School and witness the installation of the new machines and equipment, purchased with the proceeds of The Coffee Man book.
I am so incredibly proud to have been able to help provide this equipment to this wonderful school, to help encourage a new generation of coffee producers and to further educate the hard working people already in the industry.
I would like to thank the following people, who were the first 30 people to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign and make this all possible:

$20,000 goal reached
With the first $20,000 AUD raised from sales of The Coffee Man book, we have been able to purchase equipment for the Nicaragua Coffee School!! Thank you to everyone who has purchased a copy of the book.
With Claudia’s guidance and by communicating with the school, we have organised the purchase of:
- Espresso machines
- Filter coffee brewing equipment
- Tampers
- Benches/tables
- And more…
We will hopefully be installing this equipment in April this year, during my next visit to Nicaragua.

Release of The Coffee Man
With the release of The Coffee Man book, we can now begin raising funds and finding ways to help encourage more study and training in the Diplito region of Nicaragua and other areas, through the Nicaragua Coffee School.

The Nicaragua Coffee School
While I was writing The Coffee Man: Journal of a World Barista Champion I was looking for further initiatives to support with proceeds from the book. As the book was funded through a publicly-funded Kickstarter campaign, all the money raised from book sales could go to helping coffee communities and producers.
My good friend, Claudia Lovo in Nicaragua told me about the Nicaraguan Coffee School – this was a school that was created in order to inspire a new generation of coffee professionals, and to help further educate those already working in coffee.
Claudia told me that they lacked many resources and could do with some support.
